A few months ago, a sequel to the popular Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide was announced for Xbox One and other platforms. The original game was somewhat of a surprise hit because it combined teamwork with satisfying melee combat. Players were enamored with the presentation and many were hoping for a continuation to the series.

Today, the sequel launched on Xbox One and there are a few buying options. You can either purchase Warhammer: Vermintide 2 outright, starting at $29.99, or play it through Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass membership costs $9.99 each month so be sure to check it out if you want a Netflix-style subscription for games.

Developer Fatshark also confirmed that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was targeting native 4K resolution on Xbox One X and 1440p on PlayStation 4 Pro. The developer said that it was enhancing the Xbox One X version with native 4K textures and a steadier frame rate compared to base hardware.

Just like its predecessor, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a melee action game with co-op gameplay. You, along with three other players, have to battle seemingly endless hordes of enemies in a gothic setting. The title introduces the dark, bloody and twisted "Chaos" faction as the new enemy. We don't know much about them yet, but they're supposed to be utterly menacing from what the developer has said so far. However, that doesn't mean you won't be slaughtering legions of them. Other new features include expanded careers, environments, skill trees, and much more.
